UFL Calls the Minister of Labor to Take the Decision to Stop the Godfather of Corruption at NSSF from work... And a sit-in Strikes this Wednesday

Wasting Social Security Funds

UFL held a meeting with the Guardianship Minister of NSSF, Minister of Labor Lamia Yammine Douaihy, at the Ministry on May 20, 2020 and provided evidence it has worked on documenting since 2017. The documents, related to corruption, embezzlement, and waste of public funds in the NSSF, prove the involvement of the head of the technical committee at NSSF Samir Aoun in grave infringements of the laws. Accordingly, for the third time, UFL requested that Mr. Aoun be stopped from practicing his work after submitting the same request to the former Guardianship Ministers Mohammad Kabbara and Camille Abou Sleiman with no avail.

Despite the rampant corruption in the NSSF halls which is increasing day by day, and despite all filed claims and lawsuits, UFL lawyers haven’t received any formal response and no decision regarding the aforementioned request has been made yet. Thus, UFL warns against the persistent unresponsiveness to its demands which are basically the demands of the insured and other citizens, particularly during this highly sensitive stage. Otherwise, UFL would escalate matters and confront those covering up the senior corrupted individuals at the NSSF, which UFL will translate by calling for a sit-in strike in front of the Ministry of Labor next Wednesday, June 17, 2020, the date and arrangements of which will be determined at a later time.

Finally, considering the number of strikingly evident violations committed against the NSSF, which is the last resort for hardworking people, UFL relies on the Minister of Labor’s Lamia Yammine’s response to UFL’s request to stop Aoun from work without any excuses or justifications, which falls within the core of her Authorities. This way she would avoid following the lead of the previous Guardianship Ministers who are considered to be false witnesses to the looting and destruction of this venerable institution.
